Article by Stuart Mirle

Unless you are prepared to invest in all of the necessary garden pond supplies that are required to have a healthy garden pon, there is no point in even attempting to install one.

Garden ponds do not have to be overly expensive to construct, but there are some basic garden pon supplies that are a necessity. By doing some comparison shopping when seeking out these necessary items however, costs can really be kept to a minimum. In addition to this, whatever expense is incurred in constructing the garden pon is well worth it. A healthy water pond provides many hours of relaxation and enjoyment.

Garden pon linersYou are going to have to have something to contain the water for your pond. You can either choose from preformed liners, or flexible liners. There are pros and cons to both and it will come down to you having to make your decision based on what your pond requirements are.

==> Pond pumpsIf you have a very tiny pond with virtually nothing in it, then you may be able to get away without a pump. Very few people are satisfied with this type of pond however, and soon go about stocking it with at least some pond plants and a few fish at the very least. This makes having a pond pump an absolute necessity.

==> Pond filtrationYou must be able to filter the water of your garden pond. It will be exposed to environmental debris, as well as the bi-products of the fish such as their waste, and unused foods. These left unattended in the pond will contaminate the water. Without the use of a filtration system to attend to this matter, the water will soon become unhealthy for both fish and plant life.

==> Pond waterfalls and fountainsThese are items that one can now consider as an option when it comes to garden pond supplies. They fit into the décor category of pond building. They certainly are a most welcome addition. Which you choose will be determined by the pond design that you have, as well as size and of course preference. Neither one of these are hard to install or maintain.

==> Additional Pond garden supplies There are many handy garden pond supplies that are considered accessories but many garden pond enthusiasts simply will not do without them. One of these is the water thermometers. Knowing and keeping control of the pond temperature is crucial for both fish and plant life.

Another great accessory is garden pond netting. After spending many hours of cleaning out debris such as fallen leaves and twigs, or dealing with unwanted birds, this pond netting proves to be most valuable.

Then there is a necessity for a pond testing kit. This takes all the guesswork out of knowing if the pond is stabilized according to the various chemical components it depends on to remain healthy.

Finally there are various chemicals that are available such as water clarifiers, stabilizers and algae control. There are other accessories as well which many come under the category of garden pond décor.

Article by Sylvest Yap

Garden pond pumps are typically essential in a man-made garden pond in order to preserve its cleanliness plus the wellness of those fishes and frogs or other inhabitants within the pond. This kind of pump is typically put into use alongside filtration gadgets to help avoid deposits of germs, sediments and debris within your pond. The filtration equipment might also make it easier to retain the most suitable PH stability inside your pond to keep up a well-balanced natural environment for the inhabitants.

In addition to beautifying your landscape, garden pond pumps have many other purposes too other than being attached to the pond filtration. Though infiltration is definitely crucial, a garden pond pump may also enhance the garden pond and also the well-being of the inhabitants.

The garden pond pump can also be employed to set up water fountains, waterfalls, water channels, water sprays or other water design which the owner or landscape designer can possibly imagine. The use of the garden pump is essential as it will support the pond filtration system concurrently. Adding to that, garden pond pumps can also help maintain the moving water oxygenated. You need to know that oxygenating the pond water within your garden pond is essential for the survival of the fishes and all other animal life within it. Fishes require air in order to breathe from the moving water and garden pond pumps can aid you with that.

The movements generated by garden pond pumps located in a garden pond can be especially helpful in reducing the stagnation of the water in the pond and to maintain the pond water thoroughly clean and clear also. Garden pond pumps are utilised to ensure that the moving water circulates faultlessly and that it is able to carry the water to specific sections inside your pond which is also useful for plant irrigation.

Generally there are several differences in the usage of garden pond pumps, specifically when it is being put into use with water formation devices and filtration products. This is when the pond water is being taken in and processed at that same time by the garden pond pump. Right now there are also various suppliers which make integrated singular pump which consist of several capabilities so that customers will not need to spend on more than a single garden pond pump.

In case you are preparing to install a garden pond pump for the ponds, be sure you select prudently so that you don’t end up using a pump which can’t serve your requirements. If you’re unsure exactly which sort to get or which garden pond pumps can best fit the garden or the particular design and style you are preparing to set up, like the water structures that you would like to add up, you might consult the maker or the garden designer for more tips.

You can make use of an ordinary garden pond pump should you not intend to put any sort of water formation or other design to it. Yet should you wish to adorn your own garden, you can pick and choose amongst the numerous garden pond pumps on the market or perhaps you may talk to your landscape designer for some ideas. Always be precise with regards to the water structures that you desire to include into the garden, so that it will be much simpler for you to choose the best pump to make use of. The particular pump you pick out have to serve your existing requirements, in addition to foreseeable future expectations.

A popular brand name of garden pond pumps is the Hozelock pond pumps which are available in a range of models to suit your needs. Moreover it features fish pond pumps and koi pond pumps units which cater to the needs of large fish and koi ponds.

Loads of hobbies bring forth feelings of excitement, joy and fulfillment, particularly when the hobby involves a living thing! For the novice, there is always the initial excitement of going to the pet store, choosing that first goldfish, mouse or hamster, taking it home and thinking …… now what do I do with it? This happens time and time again! It’s the same story with plant life, but that’s a whole other story!

When considering taking up a “life form hobby”, one really needs to do some major homework first. This is especially true for the novice Koi Fish enthusiast. Keep that wild enthusiasm and excitement in check, at least while you ponder what will be in the best interests of both you and your Koi Fish in the long term.

Whilst Koi Fish are remarkably hardy, they are not indestructible and deserve your full consideration before subjecting them to a life of either good health or discomfort. If the novelty is going to wear off and the maintenance and care of your Koi are going to turn out to be too much, then it’s time to re-think. If, on the other hand, you are prepared for the work, then your choices will then be determined by cost and space.

Koi Fish are well known to grow quite quickly and quite big. This, naturally depends on certain factors including diet, water quality and sometimes breed. For these reasons you are obviously going to require a minimum amount of space. If you can put a tick next to the “minimum space requirement” box on your checklist, then it really just comes down to cost.

Some people are lucky enough to have enough money that they don’t need to worry about the cost and can put in whatever size Koi Pond they like. If, on the other hand, you are more restricted with finances, then you may well find the cost estimate of your “Dream Koi Pond” is enough to give you a migraine. If this is the case, then don’t despair! There are more economical options available.

Just as a novice goldfish owner can opt to buy a small and inexpensive fishbowl to start with, or a top-of-the-range aquatic ecosystem (again, no disrespect to the goldfish!), the novice Koi Enthusiast, also has a few choices.

To build a custom-designed, top-of-the-range Koi Pond with all the bells and whistles can indeed be an expensive exercise. Whilst this option can be extremely beautiful and rewarding, it is going to provide little or no enjoyment if you experience financial hardship as a consequence.

Koi Pond Kits, on the other hand, can present a very affordable alternative. Though not as unique as custom-made ponds, they are not only much cheaper, but they come with all the required equipment to get you started, aside from the Koi themselves of course.

No matter how enthusiastic you are, constructing a Koi Pond from scratch, even if within your means, is just not something everyone can deal with. Some people are completely happy to put in the work caring for their Koi but can’t for any number of reasons, manage constructing a custom made pond. Koi Pond Kits offer not only a more inexpensive option, but also a much faster and easier option.

Any Kit will include a checklist and directions for you to follow to make maintenance as easy and un-complicated as possible. Koi Pond Kits are available with either moulded basins or with flexible pond liners. In either case, you will need to dig a pre-defined hole in which to place your basin or liner. Obviously, with the flexible liner, you can have any shape you want (within the guidelines of the kit specifications, of course).

Some enthusiasts would argue that if you’re going to have a Koi Pond then get the biggest you can, since your Koi are going to grow quite big. This makes sense, but sometimes, it is simply not an expense that can be justified when considered next to ones personal financial obligations. This brings us back to the Koi Pond Kit option – a fantastic alternative that should not be viewed with cynicism.

Whether you select a custom-built Koi Pond or a Koi Pond Kit, don’t be distracted by the pond itself. After all, it is a home for your Koi.

Remember this, just as the homes we all live in vary in shape and size, so do the homes of our pets, and from their perspective, Home is where the Heart Is! If they’re happy and healthy, that’s what matters most!

Engage in a Home based business and you will have more time for the family. Teach your children the rudiments of the trade early in life so that they would be prepared when the time comes for them to be on their own. Save on rental cost having your shop in the garage. Have more time for work and family. Time is not wasted commuting or dressing up. Do you have the passion for breeding fish? Turn that passion into a home based business.

Ornamental fish culture means breeding aquarium fishes as decorative displays in homes or establishments. A garage is a perfect place to put up one. Fabricate a metal rack where you could put 3 rows of 50-gallon aquariums. Build a pond at your garden for pond fishes like Japanese carp or koi. Put water in the tanks and pond. The water should be free from chlorine, check to be sure. Install aerator and filter pumps to introduce oxygen in the water and maintain purity of water. A tank can hold more fishes if properly aerated.

The venturi type aerator is designed for loading more fish. A fountain or waterfall is best suited for garden ponds. Aside from the mechanical filter that removes solids in the water, utilize a biological filter to remove harmful ammonia and nitrite. Biological filters usually consist of many small pebbles or plastic, which gives a large surface area for bacteria to thrive. These bacteria break down ammonia and nitrite to harmless nitrates, serves as food for water plants. Buy the ornamental fishes you are interested in breeding. After buying the fish do not put it directly on the tank, acclimatize it first. Accomplish this by letting the plastic containing the fish float on the aquarium for about 5 minutes before letting it out. Feed the fish with commercial fish food and live feed occasionally.

Clean the live feed before giving it to the fish to prevent disease. Live feed is better to maintain cleanliness of the water. Do not overfeed the fish; give just enough food that they can consume in 5 minutes. Remove excess food, this could decompose and affect water quality. Change 5% of the water daily and ensure that it is at the right pH level. Fish gasping at the surface is a sign that there is low dissolve oxygen level in the water and the fish could not breathe. Change about 50 to 70% of the water to remedy this situation. It’s possible that the tank is overstocked or there is not enough aeration for the tank. Now that you are running the fish shop, it is time to do some marketing. Introduce yourself to pet shop owners; you can probably supply them ornamental fishes. Put up a display of colorful or bestseller fishes in your shop. Install a signboard. Join koi competitions. Buy fish supplies in bulk and sell it to your clients. Things like filter media, a few filters, aquarium, decorative aquarium pieces, aerators, even live fish food like mill worms. While breeding koi, fingerlings with unfavorable color patterns may be culled and sold as fish food.

This type of home based business usually begins as a hobby. Your kids would enjoy taking care of the fish while learning about the business. Watching the fish swim in their tanks has a calming effect on its audience. A nice hobby earns money.

If you are looking for ways to make extra money or have lost your job and need a way to make a full time income from home to fill the gap, look no further! Okay, did that sentence grab your attention? If so, good. Keep reading. If not, I hope you come back and take a second look. I’m not trying to sell you anything or give you the next get rich quick scheme, but I am going to share with you a secret that not many people have discovered. Interested? Good. Did you know that there are many ways of creating an income on the Internet? Did you know that you don’t have to figure out how to set up a website or sell anything to do it? That’s right. You can create an income by creating content for the Web. It’s not a scam, though there are many sites out there that might try to take advantage of you in these rough economic times. But, if you are careful and savvy, you can earn as much money as you need on your own terms. Want to learn more? Check this out.

A couple of years ago as I was surfing the Internet looking for a way to make money to help stretch my dwindling full time income I was earning as a banker. That’s right, I worked for a bank in the middle of one of the worst economic crises since the Great Depression. Needless to say, I was as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. I had a house to pay for, a family to support and I was worried that I might get laid off any day. And then I came across the website: associatedcontent.com. This little website began my writing career. They allowed me to write almost anything I wanted, and they paid me. Not only would they give me an upfront payment for the articles I wrote, but they paid me every month for the amount of traffic my articles generated. The more people that read my stuff, the more money I made.. I was hooked after I earned a few dollars for those first articles.

Of course, during the early days, the money wasn’t great. I mean, the first couple of months I don’t think I cleared more than a hundred bucks, but that was a hundred bucks I didn’t have before. Besides, having that extra in my pocket paid for my gas to and from work every week. It was like I had figured out how to stretch my full time income just a little bit further.

My little experiment grew a little more each month. I added a few more sites such as Helium, Demand Studios, Textbroker and Examiner, and started to see a real impact. My current average, after 18 months of online writing is approximately 00 per month. It averages out to be about the equivalent of earning per hour for 20 hours of work per week. If you spread those 20 hours over 7 days, I work less than 3 hours per day at writing. And the best part is, I can work those three hours in anywhere I want. If I want to take a few days off, I write more on other days. If I want to work at night, I can. If I want to earn more, I can. It’s all up to me. I am paid for my efforts alone.

Writing full-time making money online

I could easily leave my full time job and earn a good full time income by writing. The only reason I haven’t yet is because I need the health, life and disability benefits I get from my job. My goal is to become completely debt free (yes, that includes the house!) so that I can write full time and afford private insurance.

I want to make a quick disclaimer here, though. As good as everything sounds, and mark my words, this is a good opportunity. I have no delusions about becoming the next Warren Buffet. I mean, writing is great, but by no means will I ever be rich. But, I do plan to become comfortable and in this economy, that’s really saying something.

Variety of making money online

the sites I write for offer different ways of making money. Up until now, I have focused a majority of my efforts creating content for upfront fees. This process has allowed me to pay bills and pay down debt. But, I know that this level of effort is not sustainable forever. My focus is shifting to creating a passive income from sites that pay me per page view. The way this works is that I submit an article and agree to accept a percentage of revenue from the amount of traffic my article generates in lieu of an upfront payment. This way my efforts pay me each month instead of one time. It takes some effort to get your library of revenue share articles built, but once you do, the money comes in each and every month without any additional input from you.

The crux of my writing centers around the things I know: veterinary medicine (in my life before I became a banker, I was a veterinary technician for 9 years!), banking and personal finance, do it yourself home improvement (my husband and I own a small home remodeling company), Internet and computer stuff and I am now doing a series on online writing. This is my opportunity to pay it forward, so to speak. If one person finds these articles and is able to make a change in their lives for the better, then I have done what I set out to do.

Cost of making money online

Okay, for those of you who have made it this far, you’re probably wondering where the catch is. How much do I have to spend to get started? Do I need more education? I have to buy fancy equipment, right? The answers are none, no and no. All you need is an Internet connection, a computer and the motivation to improve your situation. I subscribe to the idea that people should be paid for what they do, not pay for the opportunity to do it. None of the sites I write for charge you anything to write for them, nor do they deduct any fees from your earnings. What you see is what you get.

Benefits of making money online.

The benefits of making money online are staggering. I make good money, I get to see my kids (help out with homework, etc.) clean my own home and actually see my husband. I get to watch LOST every Tuesday, at least for a few more hours, and I can pay my bills each and every month. I can attend my children’s softball/baseball games, chaperone the zoo trip and even have time to tend to my backyard garden and koi pond. I plan to have enough money in my savings account and from the sale of my current 3 bedroom 1 bath cottage to upgrade to a larger home in two years, mortgage free. If you’ve made it this far, it’s because you want to find a way to meet your goals as well, whatever those goals may be. I hope that you find that way from this article and if you do, please drop me a comment and let me know how you’re doing. Of course, I’ll be making a penny or so from your visit, but knowing that I’ve been able to help someone is priceless.

People interested in symbolism and mythology have a variety of colorful tattoos from which to chose. For many, a tribal koi fish tattoo depicts luck. There are paid sites that give you access to some of the most unusual artwork and designs.

To begin with, there is a big difference between a good tattoo and an amazing tribal koi fish tattoo. Plenty of designs have come to life, koi fish tattoos being the hottest themes in Japanese tattoos today. While women were the first to get tribal koi fish tattoos, men aren’t far behind today. These tattoos are delicately designed, and have a deep meaning as well. Their popularity lies mainly in the designs and colors available.

Most men opt for tribal koi fish tattoos on their shoulders, back, calves, or upper thighs. Some koi tattoos are large enough to cover the entire back. What’s great is that they can also cover up as a full sleeve design around the arm or leg.

Women are more adventurous when it comes to tribal koi fish tattoos and even have it on the side of their stomach. A bright colored koi with splashes of blue water in the background make an artistic tattoo. Traditional Japanese designs also include maple leaves or lotus flowers in a koi tattoo design.

Tribal koi fish tattoo designs can be small or large depending on the design. Although koi are colorful fish, you can have a black koi tattoo to stand out from the crowd. These tattoos were originally from China but are now associated with Japan. For the most part, koi fish stand for strength, courage, and bravery, so you are definitely making a bold statement with you get yourself a tribal koi fish tattoo design.

Koi fish are a symbol of passionate love for the opposite sex. Also, in Buddhism, koi represents courage, which is why they are popular tattoo designs today. There are plenty of half sleeve and full back designs available. The most appropriate colors for a koi tattoo are white, red, yellow, black, blue, or cream. You can look for many variations according to your skin tone. Koi are also depicted as the Yin and Yang symbols, which together mean balance and harmony. Along with the koi, this does make a strong statement, so go right ahead and choose a tribal koi fish tattoo design today.

Article by Koi Pond Builder

There’s a whole lot to consider when setting up a koi pond or any other habitat that will act as a home to this Japanese species of carp. Properly cultivating and caring for koi isn’t like that fish tank you had as a child. Throwing in a filter and a few algae fish won’t suffice; instead, a little bit of tender loving care will be required. Different size koi feed differently. Different size koi need different types of food, depending on how large you want them. Needless to say, koi are very unique pets. When you’re first introducing small koi fish to your pond (hopefully ready for inhabitants), you will want a slighter warmer water temperature to keep them in. This will enable the fish to grow faster. In warm water, you can feed the fish twice per day or until their limit.

On the reverse side, feeding koi in colder waters (64 degrees F or lower) slows their digestive system and thus slows their growth. In colder waters below 50 degrees, you want to refrain from feeding the koi at all until the water temperate is higher.

Then you have the actual size of the fish to contend with. All koi less than 8 inches in length, as a rule of thumb, should eat around 5% of their total body weight. This may result in two or more feedings per day, depending on the feeding schedule you choose; however, koi will eat whatever you give them and will rarely turn away food, so this means you’re in complete control of what they ingest. Keep track of it, whether it’s a cereal-based diet, high proteins, or even fruits.

Koi exceeding 8 inches in length should only consume around 2% of their body weight. Again, this requires discipline on your part and not on the part of your fish. With a basic fisherman’s scale, you can weigh your fish in a matter or minutes and have a gauge for feeding. The warm/cold water system will allow you to properly control their growth and also give you a feeding gauge.

You will know if you’re properly feeding your koi fish due to their color. A healthy koi is very bright and you can tell that this fish has a healthy diet. A malnourished fish, on the other hand, will have a duller colored skin or perhaps even spots on the skin where the color has faded. The latter means you have to provide a more nutritious diet.

Most agree that the best diet for your koi is a mixture of processed pet food and some live treats every now and again. Feeding your koi strictly one or the other may result in malnourished fish.

Koi pellets are available nearly everywhere pond supplies or fish supplies are sold. You can get them in different balances of vitamins and minerals, for smaller or larger fish, etc. To keep koi vibrant and lively, mix in a few live treats. Earthworms, prawns, cockles – these are all koi favorites and will help to offer a balanced diet.

Eddie Chi is not an Expert pond construction engineer, however he has spent a considerable amount of time research the best way for hobbyist koi fish lovers to create the pond of their dreams.

It would be impossible to keep your koi in a healthy state without the use of essential koi pond supplies. Before creating a large pond with the intention to house these popular fish, it is vital to acquire the correct supplies. This piece will introduce you to different koi supplies that offer varieties of benefits, yet with one and the same objective: to keep and maintain a healthy population of attractive fish in your koi pond.

Equipment for a Healthy Koi Pond

The filtration system serves as one of the most valuable pond equipments needed. The variety and size of pond filter you purchase depends largely on the volume of your pond or water garden, and the number of koi you intend to keep. These fish, especially at adult size, can produce a lot of waste. Koi pond filters should also be well maintained and purified to preserve the filtration system’s functionality and condition. As this mainly acts as your koi pond’s line of defense against harmful chemicals, it is essential that you always check the oxygen capacity of your koi pond to preserve the health, safety and welfare of aquatic organisms.

Food for Health and Maximum Growth of Koi Fish

As a koi keeper, you must take into account acquiring quality and trusted commercial foods as one of the most beneficial koi pond supplies. These koi foods can also come with different varieties of vegetable and plant foods. There are foods in pellet and wafer format in multiple sizes depending on the age and size of your fish. For added food supply, you can also use aquatic plants such as water hyacinth as supplementary vegetation. Water hyacinth is known to reproduce faster given a short period of time, so running out of supplies will never be an issue. Not to mention the fact that koi specifically loves this type of floating plant.

Optional Chemicals for Micro-managing Koi Pond Water

Chemical koi pond supplies necessitate proper balance of three most important substances: pH, nitrite and ammonia levels. The ideal level in maintaining acidity is between 7 to 8 pH. When it comes to nitrite levels, there should be zero tolerance. Finally, ammonia levels should also be zero as this can threaten the lives of living organisms in your pond. As ammonia levels cannot be easily determined, it is crucial that you keep a constant check of both pH levels and water temperature.
